Hiddink confirm Chelsea's Alexandre Pato 6 weeks fitness program

With doubts about the Brazilian's fitness level, the club has devised a preseason training regimen for the on-loan Corinthians attacker, with Pato potentially facing six weeks of training before he can play in his first European top-flight match since 2012, according to The Telegraph's Matt Law.
Pato's absence will see Diego Costa in a solo attacking role for Sunday's clash with Manchester United, with Loic Remy missing out due to a calf injury and missing-man Radamel Falcao still sidelined with a thigh concern.
Interim manager Guus Hiddink addressed his plan for Pato ahead of Sunday's visit from United.
"Pato is in his preseason and we have made a training plan, which he is doing now every day at least once, but lots of days twice training," Hiddink told reporters.
"He is getting his fitness, but not full fitness yet and he needs to be fine-tuned. We made a good plan. He will not be in for the upcoming few games. We want to have him fit, but not going too early for the risk of injury in this tough league."
With the possibility that Pato could miss both legs of Chelsea's Champions League round of 16 tilt with Paris Saint-Germain, Hiddink was forced to defend the club's decision to bring in the pacey attacker.
When asked if Pato could make an impact, the Dutch gaffer said: "I hope so, but that's why it is good to have him on loan and not already in a situation where the club has offered him a longer term (contract). So it’s good for both parties and they can see whether they fit."
