Barcelona eases past 10-man Athletic Bilbao in 6-goal rout

Anything Real Madrid can do, Barcelona can do better.
On a day where Zinedine Zidane's men defeated Sporting Gijon 5-1, Barcelona made sure to remind fans of Spanish soccer exactly which side reigns supreme, putting six unanswered goals past Athletic Bilbao to secure all three points.
Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the first half, tucking home a penalty to round off a play that had also awarded a red card to goalkeeper Iraizoz.
Then, Brazilian forward Neymar added a second goal at the half-hour mark, streaking down the left wing unmarked and chipping his shot past the 'keeper after Luis Suarez sent a long, curving through pass his way.
Messi came off at half-time with an apparent hamstring injury scare but Barcelona did not need him as Suarez notched a third goal right at the start of the second half.
Neymar continued to torment Bilbao, sneaking his way into the box before slipping a pass inside for Ivan Rakitic to tap home for a fourth goal.
The remainder of the match belonged to Suarez, who scored in the 68th minute off a superb cross into the box, then wrapped up his scoringl haul on the day with an 82nd-minute hat-trick goal. It brought the final tally to 6-0 on a memorable night at the Nou Camp.
It was also a memorable night for Messi, who was honoured by fans after winning his record fifth Ballon d'Or trophy.
Not a bad day for the Blaugrana.
