Nacho Monreal signs new long-term deal with Arsenal

Nacho Monreal committed his future to Arsenal after agreeing to a new long-term contract.
"I'm really happy because my intention was to keep playing for Arsenal," Monreal told the team's website.
"I have a good relationship with my teammates and we keep improving year after year. I wanted to stay here and I could extend my contract. I would like to play here for many more years."
Since joining the Gunners from Malaga in 2013, Monreal has overtaken Kieran Gibbs at left-back to become a regular fixture in manager Arsene Wenger's first team.
Monreal, who has appeared in all 22 of Arsenal's Premier League matches this season, didn't have the smoothest transition from Spain, but Wenger praised the 29-year-old for his ability to adapt and perform at a consistent level in England's top flight.
"He is a very important player at the club because he can play left-back and centre back," Wenger said. "He has the consistency in his performances that is requested at the top level.
"Overall, his attitude has been absolutely fantastic on a daily basis since he arrived here. He’s 100 per cent committed and I think as well he has always improved since he has arrived and has shown that in many big games as well."
